Art Print 'Halo'

Halo' is a 9-color handpull silkscreen art print by German artist Gregor Koerting, the print is based on as well as developed from an earlier sculpture/installation piece of the artist's - a physical terracotta Buddha bust.

In the distant view of the piece, an undefined lake-scape is illuminated by a golden and unreal-appearing sundown, the setting sun seems to be evaporating into clouds then merging with the mystic into another sphere.

As the introversive countenance, middle front of the picture stands a modified grotesque Buddha bust. One may feel familiar to this Buddhism iconography, however its strange constellation creates an uncertain feeling of grief. There's a loss of spiritual sense, not only among the imaginary itself but also the unconscious desires that we forgot during the ages but are still remaining in human nature.

Hand-printed by the artist himself at IdleBeats screen printing studio in Shanghai. 9-layers of half transparent water-based ink on 280gsm hologram laser card. The psychedelic surface of the paper shines through the clear paint under different lighting environment which adds to the piece more mysterious and absurd feeling. ‘Halo’ with no doubt, is a masterpiece that reaches the beautiful combination of art and craftwork.

One run in an edition of 24, plus one special version printed on a vintage mirror, same size and color combo, 1/1.
