Art Print 'Contemporary Socialism'
"The idea of this print came from an old Chinese book cover from Culture Revolution period, the image is so strong and impressive that the kids are marching forward with high spirit and full power. We wanted to make something that connects that absurd period of time and the current status of world's metropolises. So the kids are tagged with weird English names in the print, just like on Facebook, even the Mao statue they are in front of is giving a big FB 'Like' thumb-up.
In the red years there's no word called 'individual', everyone is a same screw of the giant society machine. The kids on the print would have never imagined that today people can have such various kinds of life, and social networking sites makes everyone feel so special and unique by uploading what they've eaten, what they've bought and what kind of iPhone app they just downloaded...
but when you take a moment and think about this, is it really that different? "
